About Me:
I’m a designer/educator working in Philadelphia, PA and teaching graphic and digital design at Philadelphia University’s School of Design+Media.
After graduating from Moore College of Art I met and married Bob Emmott with whom I share a photography/design studio. We have a son, Kevan who is married to Erin and they have Cooper and Fletcher—all lights of my life! They appear in my blog as do my friends, some with whom I go on trips and some with whom I have, what are known as, “Rude Dinners”. My Mom’s an artist and she appears in here from time to time as do a host of others.
Some of my favorite things after the above family and friends are drawing, travel—especially road trips, good food and wine, working with fibers—I had a life as a weaver and still like to spin my own yarn— it’s meditative, and figuring out things in general. The figuring out is where the computer comes in as, to me, it’s all about figuring out, and figuring out and figuring out . . .
This blog was started when I had to create one for a client and needed to know how to do it. It has its own life, swinging this way and that and being active and dormant in cycles as my life goes about its path.
Some times the comments are on and then I get a lot of spam comments and turn them off, resulting in very little activity in that area. I do like comments from real commenters and will respond.
So, please, enjoy this site, comment if you wish, and visit my studio site at emmott.com.
