It was too early to check in so we left our luggage, had a light breakfast at the hotel and set out. First order of the day was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bookofkells.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\">Trinity College<\/a> and the Book of Kells which was created c. 800 AD. We\u2019d been told the lines get pretty long as the day went on so . . .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bethemmott.com\/blog\/extra\/images\/ireland\/kellsLine.jpg\" alt=\"Line to see book of Kells\" \/><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Here\u2019s the line as we left\u2014and growing.<\/em><\/h5>\n<p>Next, we walked over to St. Stephens Green and wonderful, beautiful park in the center of Dublin, grabbed lunch and at 2:00 Went to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museum.ie\/en\/exhibition\/list\/exhibition-details-kingshipsacrifice.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">National Archeological Museum<\/a>. We\u2019d seen a lot of their gold collection when it had been on display at the Philadelphia Art Museum, years ago but I wanted to see the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bog_body\" target=\"_blank\">Bog man<\/a> exhibit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Can&#8217;t take pictures inside!
