I started working with leaves during a wonderful small tapestry loom retreat held at CSU's mountain campus in Colorado with Rebecca Mezoff. Aspen were everywhere and I decided to work with a leaf as my design.
The idea of using a small loom to record ideas and experiences was new and was one I wanted to explore further. I'd been a weaver years before but the idea of using weaving to record ideas and experiences was new and, like traditional sketching, can lead to more finished work or become a work in itself.
I was excited to have "Have a Cup of Tea with me" hung in American Tapestry Alliance's "The Biggest Little Tapestries in the World!" exhibition in Reno Nevada.
