I’m very excited to have finally created a page on Facebook where I could concentrate on my love of gardens and my work which results from it. Last Sunday a student alerted me that my web site was down. On checking, I discovered that my host for many, many years (Text Drive) had closed shop, left town and was no more! All with out any notification that they intended to do so—no time to get files etc. and both this site and my studio site (emmott.com) were gone. My latest blog data backup was in Jan, my other files earlier.
Soooo, after I calmed down, I gathered what I had and found a new host, DigitalOcean, and set about rebuilding things. I have most everything as you can see except any Blog entries after Dec. and any messages to my students which I type on the fly.
Cards are printed, cut and folded, signed and mailed! No calligraphy in the lot but a photo I took last winter of a red hanging begonia in our little sun room where we like to read the paper etc on sunny winter days.
Previous years cards may be seen here. This years will join them later.

“Checking the Turkey”
My parents loved Thanksgiving with all the trappings. Cooking, lots of people and lots of chaos! If they didn’t eat at home and they would cook a complete turkey dinner the next day in order to have leftovers.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday—good food with people I care about. Light on the decorations and no worry about gifts etc. (I do not and never have shopped on Thanksgiving weekend.) Cooking, eating, chatting and relaxing!
My son and his family went to a French restaurant for lunch and stopped by friends later.
Different folks / different strokes. Friends/family were important for all. And I’m pretty sure all were thankful!
